Migrant workers are an increasingly prominent feature of the Canadian labour force. Extended commuting, within Canada, and between Canada and other parts of the world is widespread. Temporary foreign workers and related policies have been a particular focus of public scrutiny. This event will explore the changing place of temporary foreign workers in Canada's labour force and the effects of policy on these workers.
Paul Kennedy of CBC Ideas will moderate and record the session. The panel will feature prominent researchers: Katherine Lippel, Delphine Nakache, Sylvie Gravel, Eric Tucker and Sara Dorow and will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Hosted by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, On the Move Partnership and CBC Ideas.
