1. 2024 CPSA – Conference’s Format

The 2024 CPSA Annual Conference will be held in person from Wednesday, June 12 to Friday, June 14 at McGill University, Montréal, Québec.

All conference participants, paper-givers, poster and three minute thesis contestants must be prepared to attend the events and to make their presentations in person.

  2. Presentations can be made in either English or French.
  3. Papers for the Conference – Deadline: June 3, 2024
    • Papers should be SINGLE SPACED, not exceeding the word count of 12,000 and should not have been previously published.
    • Complete your paper and email it to the relevant section head and the chair, discussant and participants in your session by June 3, 2024. E-mail addresses will be available in the on-line programme (right-click on their names in your session description to copy/paste their e-mail addresses).
    • Authors are reminded to include a note on their on-line paper indicating that their paper not be cited without permission from the author.
    • Failure to comply with the above mentioned deadline can result in the chair excluding the presentation from the session.
    • Further, discussants will be under no obligation to comment on the papers if they are not given a reasonable amount of time to read them. Such an action would be a loss to all attending the session.
  4. Discussing or Chairing a Panel
Presenters will be considered as possible chairs or discussants. Given that a successful conference depends on having, not only paper-givers, but chairs and discussants, the CPSA strongly encourages participants to proactively offer their services in either/both of these roles to any of our 21 section heads and/or be willing if a request is made.
  5. Grants: CPSA Travel Grants - Deadline: February 15, 2024
  6. Congress Graduate Merit Award (CGMA)

This award was created by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences to help facilitate the participation of graduate students in Congress activities and conferences.

The terms, prize amount and eligibility of this award will be announced in early January 2024.
